Our Mission and Teaching Philosophy
Greater Hope Preparatory School has developed a curriculum, and daily schedule with attainable goals for each child admitted into our school. The daily routine fosters the desire to learn and explore in a developmentally age appropriate environment. We believe children have the right to a safe, nurturing environment where they can feel secure. We also believe that every child should have the opportunity to develop to their highest potential, and that our teachers have the responsibility to provide that opportunity for development. We recognize that each child is an individual and that each child must be allowed to learn at his or her own pace.
Education begins with active play. The teacher’s job is to provide opportunities and experiences for growth in all areas. The classroom set up allows for children to openly explore and create their own ideas. Children are able to express themselves through art, music, and movement, which follow early childhood development principles.
We will strive to develop independence among our students as well as providing problem solving situations which will carry over throughout life. We demonstrate positive roles such as compromising, sharing and acceptance so that our students learn to treat others as they desire to be treated.
